If you have ever loved the GR Supra, GR86 or GR Yaris, chances are the name 2026 Toyota GR GT is making you curious. Is this the new “peak” of Toyota, and more importantly, is it really worth upgrading from the GR you already own?

The first thing I want to clarify with you: the Toyota GR GT has so far only been shown as a prototype, a flagship supercar from Gazoo Racing, revealed at the end of 2025 and expected to reach the market around 2027. Toyota has confirmed that this is a front engine, rear wheel drive sports car, built on an all new aluminum structure and using a 4.0 liter twin turbo V8 with a performance hybrid system, developed as a “road legal race car”.
