• In terms of ownership costs, this is not a car you simply “upgrade into” from a current GR. It is aimed at collectors, high level enthusiasts and those ready for supercar level expenses.

So, is it really worth upgrading from previous GR models?

1. If “upgrade” means moving from a GR Supra or GR86 to a 2026 Toyota GR GT and still treating the car as your main daily driver, my honest answer is: it is not realistic. You would need to accept far higher costs and a clearly more demanding car in everyday life.
